NEW PHOTO OPPS

Eric Reiner

Hi everyone. hope you're all staying warm! I wanted to send out a few photo opps for anyone wanting to get out, so here goes:

. THIS SATURDAY, for any cooped-up nature freaks like me, the Ohio State University Museum of Biological Diversity will hold its annual Open House, with the theme of Backyard Biodiversity. Though not a normal public museum with displays, its staff will have some collections out for viewing (and maybe Extreme Close-up photos, hint-hint), as well as related activities, mostly for kids. It will be Saturday (2/11) from 10:00-4:00, and it's located at 1315 Kinnear Rd., on the Columbus campus. Admission is free!

. On Sunday, February 26, the Ohio Expo Center will host the Exotic Bird Society Bird Fair from 10:00 to 4:00. Admission is $4.00.

. On both Saturday and Sunday, 2/25 & 2/26, Slate Run Living Historical Farm (part of Slate Run Metro Park, on State Rt. 674 south of Lithopolis) will have its annual Maple Sugaring program from 1:00-3:00. Some great photographic possibilities, with the historical setting and the steam rising up from the evaporator… and no admission charge!

. Ongoing through April 8th, the Franklin Park Conservatory (East Broad St. west of Nelson Rd., Columbus) will have Orchids! Vibrant Victoriana, a celebration not only of the amazing orchid flowers, but also of the Conservatory's history.

For those interested in a photography road trip:

. Through May 26th, the National Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio will have, in addition to its regular exhibits -- which look awesome for old-car buffs -- an Antique Motorcycle Exhibit, "Motorcycles Around the World," featuring a lot of cool bikes! Check out their website, http://packardmuseum.org/.

. If you missed the Lancaster Pow-wow recently, you can still get your Native fill at the Honoring Our Native Heritage Powwow in Lima, Ohio, on February 18th &19th. It will be held at the UAW Hall, 1440 Bellefontaine Ave., and admission is $5.

If you have any questions about any of these or suggestions of more, give me a yell: (740) 974-8458 or reinerfamily@frontier.com. Thanks!
