Minutes:

Paul opened the meeting by announcing that this year's MPPC fair booth was a success and the best yet! We will need to see what happens regarding our booth next year. The Fair's secretary is retiring, so next year there will be a new one.

Reminder that we have first formal show is at the Fairfield County District Library later this month. Only current members may participate.

We still need a hanging date and how many pictures per person we can bring. We are also waiting to hear when the reception for us will be as well.

As far as what to bring, we do not bring anything that is not in the Library's best interest.

Pictures must have a business card or something that size with the picture's title and your name. Plus any pics must have a secure way to hang them.

Paul asked that people please respond to emails asking whether to participate in something or not. This has been an issue and is getting worse.

For those who do note have this quarter's Scavenger Hunt categories, they are:
Light
Wind
Masks
Ornaments
True Meaning of Christmas
Through the Window
Open- must be from this quarter

For December's meeting please bring 1 or 2 pictures that look like they should have a humorous caption. We’ll also do a bring-in like last year for December. Please bring in some snacks to munch on!

This is the time of year to elect Officers for MPPC. Paul is carrying on for another year as President and Jan Roberts as Treasurer. For Vice President this year we had both Sandy Siefert and Tim Parker running for the position. Tim got the winning number of votes.

For Secretary, Penny Van Atta and Amy Brooks ran. The current Secretary brought up that in the past the club had 2 Secretaries to ensure coverage for each meeting. This idea was accepted. Amy was voted in as the Corresponding Secretary and Penny as the Recording Secretary.

Once the new officers were voted in, Paul announced that he'd like to form some standing committees such as a Show Committee, Program Committee, and a Social Committee. If you have ideas for more, please bring them up!

Next Paul brought up that we may have a new spot for a show in February. Details to come. We will have another club show at Alley Park in September over the Labor Day weekend. For the Labor Day show, they found 22 more standing frames to use for displays at Olivedale.

Please note that our sponsor, Lancaster City Parks and Recreation's (PNR) levy is coming up next year and they are in trouble. Paul announced that the Executive Committee would meet to brainstorm ideas to help PNR. Our membership fee is the only money that PNR gets from MPPC. They use it to provide meat for our July meeting/picnic and trophies. One idea was to not have PNR not provide the meat and we would pay 1/2 the cost of the trophies.

Per Jan going into this meeting MPPC's balance was $392.55. Tonight she collected $18 for the evening's raffle and $5 for a club CD giving us a balance of $415.55. She also collected a $12 membership fee that will go to P&R.

Paul announced that he is looking for someone else to do our radio spot.

Mike Butts introduced the idea to do photos for the Carroll Old Timer's Festival. It is usually the third weekend in August. They used to have a booth to do "Old Time" photos in sepia tint. Details to come.

Tim Oettinger asked for pictures that he can use in photo slide shows. He gave out handouts of themes he was looking for. Paul offered to sent it to the club membership.

This month, we reffled off off a monopod, 2 picture frames and an easel.
