Dieting, dieting day and night
Oh, why me, on this horrendous plight?

I count my calories, big and small.
Well, at least most of them, maybe not all.

The ones not counted are no big deal,
Especially considering how well I feel.

I need my energy, that can't be denied.
Why can't this excess gravity be defied?

They say a little sugar won't hurt anyone.
That's all I needed to hear - that's done.

Sugar is supposed to give you a surge.
To me, for health reasons, I splurge.

I get my proteins, fruits and carbs,
Not to mention my veggies and lards.

Dairy is yummy and oh, those cheeses,
With all of these, my hunger pang eases.

Oh well, to chubbiness I am resigned,
Because of my genes, I know slimness I will never find.
